Experiencing and seeing first-hand the positive impact mentorship has on youth, our founder Rhonda set out to ensure that others can too experience the same. Inspired by the childhood lessons, sprinkled with love and wisdom at the hands of her great-grandmother, Essie’s Girls Inc. was born. Founded in 2009, incorporated in April 2010 because Rhonda wants to give girls the opportunity to reach their fullest potential in life with the additional support of mentors, caring adults who teach, help and advise them during their growing years.

Our mission is to empower today’s young girls to be successful individuals by teaching them critical and necessary life skills through a curriculum that is designed to promote academics, develop character, define and set career objectives, and build healthy relationships through:
